Miami vs GT preview
Miami flys into Atlanta to face the rambling wreck on November 13th. Paul Johnson and the yellow jackets will have their option attack ready for the hurricanes after getting blown out by Miami in 2009. Georgia Tech lost a number of quality starters to the NFL draft but they still return 12 starters from last season. This game has never been an easy game for the hurricanes especially on the road. It should be no different for Miami in 2009.
The offense is led by Josh Nesbitt and running backs Anthony Allen, and Roddy Jones. In the past Georgia Tech has always had at least one deep threat this will not be the case in 2010. Georgia Tech will make Miami’s linebackers run around and make plays all day. Last year Miami had the perfect scheme for the jackets. It will be difficult to shut them down two years in a row. Look for Paul Johnson to throw some special wrinkles into the offense especially for this game.
The defense uses a 3-4 scheme so this will be something different for Miami to face as well. There are no big time playmakers on defense like there was last year for the yellow jackets. Miami will have opportunities to exploit Tech’s defense if they are patient and pick the right spots to attack.
This game could have big implications for the Coastal Title so look for both teams to come out ready to compete. Tech’s option offense is a hit or miss type of situation. Either they rack up the yards or they stay stagnant. Miami has the athletes to run sideline to sideline, so lets see if they can repeat on their performance from last year. Tech will have a hard time keeping up with all of Miami’s weapons. The main issue for Miami is that they will only have a week to gameplan for the option and the 3-4 defense. Two things they will have not seen up until this game.
